Objectives
The LEAKING project aims at the effective
detection and characterisation of underground pipeline faults, using
microwave technology integration and expert decision support systems. This
goal involves:
- Determining the exact location, depth and material of the underground
pipelines with radar technology.
- Detection of large and small leaks in the water supply network, regardless
of the pipeline material, using two independent technologies: microwave
radiometry and CW radar signal processing.
These two approaches will complement each other to increase detection
probability and reduce the false alarm rate.
